“CELEBRATING WOMEN’S CONTRIBUTIONS IN THE VALUATION AND ARCHITECTURE SECTORS: A LANDMARK VIDEO RELEASE”

In a groundbreaking effort to highlight the growing influence of women in traditionally male-dominated sectors, the CEV IAF RVO has released an insightful new video showcasing the remarkable contributions of women in the fields of Valuation and Architecture. The video, created in celebration of International Women’s Day, features a series of thought-provoking discussions from leading women professionals, shedding light on their inspiring journeys, the barriers they have broken, and the transformative changes they are bringing to their respective industries.

The video delves into several essential topics, beginning with Women’s Empowerment in the Valuation Sector”, as presented by RV Gunjan Rajdev and Ar. Mallika Jain. Their session explores the challenges women face when working in environments dominated by gender biases, providing a first-hand account of overcoming societal expectations and carving a niche in the valuation field. Through these stories, they emphasize the need for greater recognition and support for women professionals in these areas.

RV Rita Minhas, in her segment “Gender Inclusive Spatial Planning,” discusses how Indian women have long contributed to the shaping of architectural spaces and the critical role they now play in valuation. Highlighting the efforts of NGOs such as JAGORI, she discusses how inclusive public spaces designed for safety and accessibility can significantly improve women’s experiences in urban environments.

Advocating for legal rights, Decoding the POSH Act-2013 for a Valuer” by Ar. Dolcy Gupta and Advocate Vishakha Gupta, provides essential insights into the creation of a safe and supportive workplace through the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act (POSH). The session stresses the importance of ongoing awareness and training for Internal Complaint Committees (ICCs) to protect female professionals from workplace harassment.

The video also touches upon sustainable architecture with “Sustainable Housing for Sustainable Cities – The New Urban Agenda” by RV Madhu Garg, who addresses pressing global issues such as housing demands, urbanization, and environmental sustainability. To conclude, “Elements of Iconic Architecture – The Award-Winning I.T.
