Major Opportunity for Registered Valuers & Other Eligible Valuation Professionals
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, 03 SEPTEMBER 2026 (CEV TECHNO NEWS): In a major development for the valuation fraternity, State Bank of India (SBI), Local Head Office, Poojapura, Thiruvananthapuram, has issued a Public Notice inviting applications for empanelment of Valuers for a period of three years from the date of empanelment.
The announcement is particularly significant for Registered Valuers, SARFAESI Valuers and other eligible valuation professionals who are looking for opportunities to undertake valuation assignments for SBI.
🔴 THREE-YEAR EMPANELMENT WITH SBI
As per the Public Notice, the empanelment of Valuers will be for a period of three (3) years from the date of empanelment.
The Bank has invited applications from eligible professionals falling within the prescribed categories, subject to fulfilment of the applicable eligibility criteria.
This provides an important professional opportunity for eligible valuers seeking association with one of India’s largest banking institutions.
👨💼 WHO CAN APPLY?
The SBI Public Notice identifies the following broad categories of Valuers who may apply, subject to fulfilment of eligibility conditions:
1. Registered Valuers under IBC, 2016
Registered Valuers under the provisions of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, who are registered under the Companies (Registered Valuers and Valuation) Rules, 2017, as referred to in the Government of India notification dated 18 October 2017 issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
2. Valuers under SARFAESI Act, 2002
Valuers registered under Section 34AB of the Wealth Tax Act, 1957, i.e. valuers covered for valuation under the SARFAESI Act, 2002.
3. Other Eligible Valuers
The notice also provides for Valuers other than those covered under the above two categories, subject to the eligibility criteria prescribed by SBI.
📌 TWO BROAD CATEGORIES OF EMPANELMENT
The SBI notice further states that the empanelment of valuers shall be undertaken in the following categories:
Category I
Valuers under SARFAESI Act, 2002
Category II
Valuers other than under SARFAESI Act, 2002, including Valuers registered with IBBI
This classification makes the notification particularly relevant for the growing community of IBBI Registered Valuers, along with other professionals eligible under the Bank’s prescribed criteria.
⚠️ VERY IMPORTANT: EXISTING PANEL VALUERS MUST ALSO APPLY AFRESH
One of the most important points in the notification is specifically highlighted by SBI:
“THE VALUERS ALREADY ON THE BANK’S PANEL HAVE ALSO TO APPLY AFRESH.”
Therefore, existing empanelled valuers should not assume that their existing panel status will automatically continue.
They will also be required to participate in the fresh empanelment process and submit the prescribed application along with the required documents.
This is a crucial compliance point and existing panel valuers should take note of the requirement immediately.
📅 LAST DATE – 15 SEPTEMBER 2026
The Public Notice states that Valuers are required to submit their applications in the prescribed formats, along with the relevant enclosures/documents, to the nearest SBI Branches / Business Units.
🔴 LAST DATE: 15.09.2026
Applications are required to be submitted on or before 15 September 2026 for further scrutiny, recommendation and submission to the appropriate authority.
Professional Alert
Eligible valuers should not wait until the last date. Applicants are advised to verify their eligibility, obtain the prescribed application format, arrange the required supporting documents and submit the complete application well before the deadline.
🏦 WHERE TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION?
Applications are to be submitted to the nearest SBI Branch / Business Unit in the prescribed format along with the relevant documents and enclosures.
The applications will thereafter undergo the Bank’s process of scrutiny, recommendation and submission to the appropriate authority.

📋 IMPORTANT CHECKLIST FOR PROSPECTIVE APPLICANTS
Before submitting the application, prospective Valuers should carefully examine the detailed SBI empanelment requirements and ensure that:
- The applicant falls within the applicable category;
- The prescribed application format is used;
- All required enclosures are attached;
- Eligibility requirements are fulfilled;
- Professional registration/certification documents are current;
- Relevant qualification and experience documents are available;
- All declarations and undertakings, wherever required, are properly completed;
- Documents are arranged in the prescribed sequence; and
- The application is submitted to the appropriate SBI Branch/Business Unit within the prescribed timeline.
Incomplete or improperly prepared applications may face difficulty during scrutiny, and therefore applicants should follow the final detailed SBI guidelines carefully.
💼 WHY THIS EMPANELMENT IS IMPORTANT FOR VALUERS
Bank empanelment is an important professional avenue for Valuers because banking institutions require valuation services for a wide range of financial and secured lending activities.
Depending upon the nature of assignments allocated by the Bank, empanelled professionals may be called upon to undertake valuation work relating to eligible assets and properties as required by SBI.
However, it is important to understand that empanelment does not necessarily mean a guaranteed number or volume of assignments. Actual assignments will depend upon the Bank’s requirements and applicable terms and conditions.
⚖️ SBI RETAINS THE RIGHT TO MODIFY OR WITHDRAW THE NOTICE
Another important provision in the Public Notice is that the Bank reserves the right to amend or modify any terms and conditions of empanelment and to withdraw the advertisement without any notice.
Therefore, applicants should keep themselves updated with any subsequent communication, amendment, clarification or modification issued by SBI.
