🚨 BREAKING NEWS
SBI CHANDIGARH CIRCLE TO INVITE FRESH APPLICATIONS FOR EMPANELMENT OF VALUERS
Three-Year Empanelment • Fresh Application Mandatory • No Direct Application • Minimum Age 25 Years • 3 Reference Letters Required
A Major Opportunity for Qualified Valuers and Valuation Professionals
CHANDIGARH, 27 AUGUST 2026 (CEV TECHNO NEWS): In a significant development for the valuation profession and banking-sector valuation assignments, State Bank of India (SBI), Chandigarh Circle is in the process of publishing a notification for fresh empanelment of Valuers.
The development is particularly important for Registered Valuers, Engineers, Chartered Engineers, Architects, valuation professionals and eligible valuation firms seeking empanelment with SBI for undertaking valuation assignments as may be required by the Bank.
According to the communication issued by the Chief Manager, Credit and Performance Monitoring, Credit Policy and Procedures Cell, CCO Department, State Bank of India, Local Head Office (LHO), Chandigarh, the Circle is preparing to publish the notification for fresh empanelment and has advised eligible valuers to submit their applications strictly in accordance with the prescribed terms, conditions and documentation requirements.
IMPORTANT: FRESH APPLICATION WILL BE REQUIRED
One of the most important points highlighted by SBI is that applications submitted earlier with incomplete, deficient or inadequate documentation will be liable to rejection and will not be considered for the fresh empanelment process.
Accordingly, eligible Valuers will be required to submit a fresh application along with all requisite documents as prescribed by the Bank.
This clarification assumes considerable significance for existing valuers as well as professionals who may have submitted applications during an earlier empanelment exercise.
Therefore, applicants should not presume that an earlier application or previously submitted documents will automatically be carried forward into the new empanelment process.
EMPANELMENT VALID FOR THREE YEARS
As per the communication, the duration of empanelment shall be three (3) years from the date of approval of empanelment by the Committee.
The Bank has also clarified that the renewal of empanelment will follow the same process applicable to fresh empanelment.
Thus, empanelment should not be understood as a permanent panel position. Eligible valuers will have to comply with the applicable requirements and process for renewal upon completion of the prescribed tenure.
NO DIRECT APPLICATION TO SBI LHO
Another crucial condition communicated by SBI is that applications are required to be forwarded to LHO Chandigarh through the recommendations of the concerned RBO/AO, for consideration under their respective geographical areas.
NO DIRECT APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR EMPANELMENT.
Applicants should therefore carefully follow the prescribed channel of submission and should not send applications directly to the Local Head Office expecting consideration.
The final notification, when published, will contain the detailed procedure, eligibility criteria and other applicable conditions.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR SBI VALUER EMPANELMENT
SBI has specified an important list of documents that applicants will be required to submit to the concerned Branch/Business Unit.
1. Annexure D / Annexure E – Application Form
The applicant must submit the applicable prescribed application form, i.e. Annexure D or Annexure E, as applicable to the category of applicant.
2. Annexure F – Checklist of Documents
The prescribed Annexure F Checklist of Documents is required to be submitted to ensure that the application contains all requisite supporting documents.
3. Annexure L – Reference Letters from Valuers
Applicants are required to submit at least three Reference Letters in the prescribed format under Annexure L.
However, SBI has provided an important relaxation for renewal cases.
If a Valuer has already been registered with the Bank for the preceding three years and has maintained an impeccable track record, no reference letter will be required at the time of renewal of empanelment.
4. Annexure G – Declaration-cum-Undertaking
The prescribed Declaration-cum-Undertaking under Annexure G must be furnished by the applicant.
5. Annexure J – Certificate of Membership
Applicants must submit the prescribed Certificate of Membership under Annexure J.
6. Visit Report
A Visit Report duly signed by the Branch/Centre Head is also required to form part of the documentation.
7. Educational Qualification & Experience
Applicants will have to furnish documentary proof relating to their educational qualifications and relevant professional experience.
8. Credit Information Report
A satisfactory Credit Information Report from one or more Credit Information Companies, such as:
- CIBIL
- Experian
- Equifax
- CRIF
- or any other CIC acceptable to SBI
will also be required.
9. Verification by Branch/Centre Head
Importantly, all documents are required to be duly verified by the concerned Branch/Centre Head before the application is forwarded through the prescribed channel.
MINIMUM AGE: 25 YEARS
SBI has also prescribed an important eligibility condition concerning the age and residence of the applicant.
The applicant:
- Must not be a minor;
- Must be at least 25 years of age;
- There is no maximum age limit prescribed under the stated condition;
- Must be a person resident in India; and
- Must be located within the territorial jurisdiction of the Circle.
Valuers intending to apply should therefore carefully verify the geographical and other eligibility requirements once the formal notification is published.
IMPORTANT CONDITION FOR CATEGORY-A EMPANELMENT
SBI has further clarified an important point relating to classification under Category A.
Even where a Valuer satisfies the required marks under the applicable evaluation matrix, the applicant will not be considered for Category A if the applicant’s relevant experience is less than five years.
This condition makes it particularly important for applicants to properly document their professional experience and ensure that their experience credentials satisfy the prescribed requirements.
APPLICATIONS TO BE ROUTED THROUGH RBO/AO
The application process will involve the concerned Regional Business Office/Administrative Office (RBO/AO).
Applications are required to be forwarded to SBI LHO Chandigarh through the recommendation of the concerned RBO/AO, based upon the geographical area under consideration.
Accordingly, prospective applicants should identify the appropriate SBI Branch/Business Unit and concerned RBO/AO well in advance and ensure that the application is routed through the prescribed mechanism.
NOTIFICATION TO BE PUBLISHED SHORTLY
At present, SBI has communicated that the notification for empanelment of valuers will be published shortly.
Therefore, professionals should carefully distinguish this communication from the final notification.
The final notification is expected to provide the complete details relating to:
- Eligibility criteria;
- Applicable categories;
- Evaluation matrix;
- Application format;
- Supporting documents;
- Submission procedure;
- Geographical jurisdiction;
- Last date;
- Terms and conditions; and
- Other requirements applicable to the empanelment process.
Applicants should not rely solely upon previous empanelment conditions and should carefully examine the final notification once published.
VALUATION ASSIGNMENTS AS REQUIRED BY SBI
The empanelled valuers will be responsible for undertaking valuation assignments as may be required by the Bank.
The specific Terms & Conditions relating to individual assignments will be determined at the time of offering the assignments.
Therefore, empanelment itself should not be construed as a guarantee of a fixed volume or number of valuation assignments.
SBI RESERVES RIGHT TO ACCEPT OR REJECT APPLICATIONS
SBI has clearly stated that the empanelment exercise constitutes an Invitation to Offer from interested and eligible professionals/firms.
The Bank reserves the right to select or reject any offer/application without assigning any reason.
Consequently, fulfilment of the basic eligibility conditions does not create an automatic or vested right to empanelment.
The final decision will remain subject to the Bank’s prescribed selection process and approval by the competent Committee.
