JALANDHAR, NOVEMBER 2026: The Council of Engineers & Valuers will celebrate its Annual Day with a major professional gathering, “ENGINEERS & VALUERS MEET,” to be held on 9 October 2026 at 5:00 PM sharp at Best Western Summerlea, BSF Chowk, Jalandhar.

The annual celebration is being organised with the objective of combining professional fellowship, knowledge sharing, technical advancement and discussion on emerging challenges facing the engineering, construction and valuation professions.

The occasion is expected to bring together engineers, valuers, architects, civil and structural consultants, construction professionals, banking and financial-sector representatives and other stakeholders associated with the built environment and real-estate ecosystem.

The Council has deliberately planned the Annual Day programme around contemporary professional subjects that are increasingly influencing the manner in which engineers and valuers undertake their assignments.

The 2026 Annual Day celebration will therefore focus on the intersection of technology, construction materials, law, data protection, ethics and valuation practice.

According to the Council, rapid technological developments, changing construction practices, increased digitisation, evolving regulatory requirements and greater accountability of professionals have made continuous learning an essential part of modern professional practice.

FIVE KEY THEMES FOR PROFESSIONAL DELIBERATION

1. Innovation in Concrete Technology

The seminar will begin with an important discussion on Innovation in Concrete Technology.

Modern construction is witnessing rapid development in concrete technology, including high-performance concrete, specialised concrete mixes, advanced admixtures, durability-enhancing technologies and sustainable construction practices.

The session will examine how such developments are influencing strength, durability, service life, construction quality and lifecycle cost.

The discussion will be particularly relevant for valuers because technological changes in construction materials can also influence replacement cost, depreciation, remaining economic life, maintenance requirements and the overall value of a building.

The final major technical session will discuss the new format of valuation recently introduced and its practical implications for valuers.

Contemporary valuation reports are expected to be increasingly structured, transparent and properly supported by documentation and analysis.

The discussion will cover important aspects such as scope of work, identification of the property, inspection, measurements, title and ownership documents, market evidence, valuation methodology, assumptions, limitations, statutory considerations, photographs, calculations and certification.
