Civil wrongs involve disputes between individuals seeking compensation for harm or injury, while crimes are offenses against society as a whole that are prosecuted by the state and can result in criminal penalties. The burden of proof and the nature of the consequences differ significantly between civil wrongs and crimes.

Civil wrongs, also known as civil torts, refer to actions or omissions that cause harm or injury to an individual or their property.

They encompass a wide range of acts, including theft, assault, murder, drug trafficking, and more. Civil wrongs are primarily concerned with violations of private rights and obligations. They can include negligence, defamation, breach of contract, personal injury, property damage, and more.
