DC HONORS HIS PROMISE, REWARDS ASCRIBE WITH RS. 25K FOR EXPOSING OVERCHARGING IN RT-PCR TESTING

SAYS, MOVE AIMS AT PROTECTING PEOPLE FROM OVERCHARGING AND MALPRACTICES AMID PANDEMIC

Jalandhar, May 19 (TECHNO NEWS): Keeping his words to reward those exposing malpractice and overcharging with regard to Covid-19 treatment and testing, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today rewarded ascribe with Rs. 25,000 for his efforts to highlight overcharging in RT-PCR testing. 

While rewarding Mr. Ajay Joshi, a correspondent of The Tribune newspaper, the deputy commissioner said that such efforts would promote accountability and transparency among the healthcare establishments treating Covid-19 patients. He categorically mentioned that the malpractice and overcharging would be highly unwarranted and attract severe actions if any such case reported in the district. 

Lauding the efforts of Journalist Ajay Joshi for exposing such malpractices, the DC said that it was the need of the hour to be vigil and proactive against any kind of medical malpractices in Covid-19 related treatment and services. He highlighted the efforts of Mr. Joshi to raise his voice against overcharging in RTPCR testing at two healthcare establishments which led to the registration of FIR. 

The DC urged people to come forward against any kind of malpractice and overcharging with regard to RT-PCR tests, Covid-19 related drugs, and treatment so that directions of the state government could be implemented in letter and spirit. The Deputy Commissioner further reiterated his commitment to providing best of the medical facilities to people amid this health crisis that too at a reasonable cost as fixed by the state government.
