The Civil Engineering Department of BFCET plays a vital role in encouraging project-based learning and sustainable engineering practices. Students are motivated to move beyond classroom theory and apply civil engineering concepts to real-world challenges through hands-on projects and experimental learning.
A notable example of this approach is the innovative project completed by the 5th Semester Civil Engineering students (Batch 2023). The project, titled “Innovative Concrete Gym Equipment,” was successfully carried out under the guidance of Project Head: Er. Ravneet Singh, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department.
The project focuses on the use of reinforced concrete as a cost-effective, durable, and low-maintenance alternative to conventional metal-based gym equipment. Designed especially for public parks, rural areas, and outdoor installations, the project highlights the practical application of concrete technology, structural safety, and sustainable construction methods.
Under expert faculty guidance, students applied theoretical knowledge related to concrete mix design, reinforcement, load-bearing capacity, and durability, strengthening their technical skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. Such initiatives reflect the department’s commitment to producing industry-ready engineers.
BFCET provides modern laboratories, experienced faculty members, and a supportive academic environment that fosters innovation and discipline. Regular workshops, seminars, and practical training programs further enhance students’ professional readiness.
