Dear friends,

Er. C. H. Gopinatha Rao sir, known as Father of Valuation in Tamilnadu has permitted CEV to upload his books on the official website and make them public free of cost with a noble intention of “Let knowledge spread”. So far, we have collected 60 books and uploaded them with the help of our mentor Sh. B. Kanagasabapathy sir, Tiruchirappalli.

Er. C. H. Gopinatha Rao sir, is a Chartered Engineer and Registered Architect. Presently practicing as a Registered Valuer and is an arbitrator in several disputes. Designed/executed more than 300 buildings which include residential, commercial, schools, and a steel stockyard. Valued more than 5000 properties of different types and was a member of the editorial board and editor of Indian Valuer for a year and contributed more than 100 articles in leading dailies and professional journals. Authored 60 books dealing in Housing and Real Estate. One of the books Valuation of Immovable Properties in running the eighteenth edition

His two Tamil books received Tamil Nadu State Govt. awards in 1986 and in 1988

Served as Chairman Institution of Engineers, Chairman, Indian Concrete Institute, Chairman Association of Consulting Civil Engineers, President, Association of Licensed Engineers and Architects was chairman of Institution Valuers. Tamil Nādu Zone for 12 years and National President for one year

The Rotary Club of Madras West bestowed him the “For the sake of Honour” award for the year 1983-84.

Recipient of “Engineer for Excellence” Award for the year 2000 bestowed by the Institution of Engineers, Tamil Nādu State Centre

He is known for his alertness in taking up public issues relating to Building Trade and bringing them to the attention of the Government for redressal.

Served as a special consultant for CMDA TRF Research Programmed for   Madras 2011 and presented a paper on the Value of Land in Madras Metropolitan area

Served as a member of the selection committee for recruitment of about 50 Engineers for LIC of India in the ranks of Asst Engineers up to Deputy Chief Engineers in 1993.

Served as a member Project Evaluation Committee in HUDCO and as a member of the working group on Urban Development in formulating the tenth five-year plan

‘Builders Line’ a popular Tamil monthly magazine bestowed him with Life Time Achievement Award for his immense contribution as an Engineer in the construction field in September 2006

The 39th annual session of the Institution of Valuers held at Kolkata in December 2007 felicitated him as one of the renowned values of the country.

The Maharashtra Association, Chennai was pleased to present “The Great Maratha Award” for his lifetime achievement on 01-05-2010

The Institution of Valuers awarded him a gold medal on 27-12-2013  for his article on “what is Guide Line value and can it be taken as the fair market value” published in  Indian Valuer  in  May, June, and July 2013
