KOLKATA: Berger Paints India is expecting a strong double-digit growth in the second quarter of this fiscal. The MD and CEO of Berger Paints, Abhijit Roy, told TOI that decorative paints is doing well and water proofing solutions could be the future growth driver for the company.According to Roy, the paints major has already fallen short of production capacity now.“We are now operating in three shifts from two shifts earlier. The demand has gone up and it is reasonably good and the trend is indicative that this season would be good. We are already ahead of pre-pandemic demand,” he added.Berger posted 171.3% jump in net profit in the first quarter of this to Rs 135 crore from Rs 49.8 crore. The revenue from operations for the quarter ended June 30, 2021 was Rs 1,619.2 crore against Rs 826.1 crore in the year-ago period, representing an increase of 96%.
