The Centre will soon appoint real estate experts and consultants in 15 major states for helping them to prepare affordable housing policy and streamline the rules for approving realty projects. We are coming out with a policy where we will be engaging large number of real estate experts and consultants to each individual states and asked them to study various rules and regulations related to building plan approvals, housing secretary Arun Kumar Misra said while addressing a conference on the real estate. Misra said the Centre would identify 12-15 major states where these experts would be engaged for simplification on the rules and regulations. Misra said the experts would also develop a software that will help the states in expediting the approval process.Bangalore ranked Indias top business destinationBangalore has been ranked as the countrys top business destination,followed by Chennai,Mumbai and Pune in terms of infrastructure,human capital,city culture and basic quality of living,says a survey. While Delhi does not figure on this list,Noida and Gurgaon from the National Capital Region have been ranked 17th and 19th respectively. The survey,conducted by Global Initiative for Restructuring Environment and Management (GIREM) and real estate consultancy firm DTZ,also found that smaller cities like Indore (5th),Bhubaneswar (6th) and Coimbatore (7th) are competing with top metros in the race to be ideal business destinations. The list includes a total of 21 top business destinations in the country. Ahmedabad has been ranked 8th,followed by Nagpur at 9th and Kochi at the 10th place. The ranking rated the cities based on factors such as human capital,energy,water,transport,housing,healthcare,climate,office space availability and city culture,which constitute the basic parameters critical in determining the growth of the city.Bhendi Bazar project gets govt nodThe ambitious project of redeveloping Bhendi Bazar,a congested commercial and residential locality spanning 16.5 acres in the heart of Mumbai,is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2014,the trust tasked with implementation of the project has said. The Saifee Bhurani Upliftment Trust said the project had been awaiting clearances under the Development Control Regulation,where a developer has to purchase 100 per cent property,without which redevelopment cannot be carried out.
