‘CORONA MUKT PIND ABHIYAN’
DC ORDERS DOOR TO DOOR SURVEY IN VILLAGES TO IDENTIFY SYMPTOMATIC PATIENTS
ALSO FORMS BLOCK-LEVEL COMMITTEE TO ENSURE MAXIMUM SCREENING IN RURAL AREAS
Jalandhar, May 19 (TECHNO NEWS): Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today ordered a door-to-door survey in all 890 villages to identify symptomatic patients under the ‘Corona Mukt Pind Abhiyan’ launched by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh yesterday.
Participating in a virtual review meeting chaired by Principal Secretary Hussan Lal, the Deputy Commissioner stated that a mammoth screening drive would be started in the district wherein all symptomatic patients to be identified by the authorities so that their timely treatment can be ensured.
Divulging the details, the DC said that under this outreach program the field officials would visit each and every rural household in the district and screen those suffering from flu-like symptoms. The teams would check oxygen saturation and report cases, where the oxygen level is found to be below 94 percent so that their Covid-19 testing and treatment if reported positive, could be initiated at the earliest, said Mr. Thori.
The Deputy Commissioner also formed a four-member committee for each block comprising Sub Divisional Magistrates, Senior Medical Officer, and BDPOs for the effective implementation of these guidelines. He further asked health officials to map villages to their nearby Health & Wellness centers as the administration has arranged for the testing and treatment facilities at all such 172 centers in the district.
Mr. Thori also mentioned that the mobile teams would also be deployed for the rural areas where maximum vaccination would be done in the coming days. He added that the special focus would be put in rural areas amid reports of surging infection in these locations to check virus spread. He stated that all Panchayats should be roped in so that maximum awareness could be created among rural folk during this ongoing health crisis.
He directed all SDMs to keep a close watch over the situation in villages falling under their respective jurisdiction and ensure maximum screening through this door-to-door survey to identify those having symptoms of illness which would help in keeping circumstances under control.
