Department of Aerospace Engineering, GNA University, Phagwara today finished a two days Faculty Development Program on “Aerospace Engineering Application & Beyond” from May 29, 2021, & May 30, 2021. The faculties from different universities, researchers, and other participants from industries all over the globe are participating in this FDP. This program was the collaboration of four latest sensational programs with exactly different fields in the Aerospace sector.
We have been fortunate to have eminent experts of Day-1, started with Er. Neha Pannu, Research fellow, SEMICONDUCTOR Lab., ISRO, Mohali. She discussed the Basics of VLSI, SCL Lab-Insights and Facilities, the Importance of electronics in aerospace engineering, Avionics, Electronic devices used in Space, Electronics in Aerospace System Satellites, Memory Devices with its applications in Space, Radiation Hardening, Selecting components for aerospace and Future Scope. Our second expert Er. Kavita Mitkari, a Research Associate, Space Applications Center, ISRO. She covered the uber-cool topic “Remote Sensing and applications, Geographic information system, digital image processing, and Cryosphere. She has been a research fellow with PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh, India. She shared very valuable knowledge with the participants.
The second day was started with the new hope, enthusiasm among the participants to learn something new from the great experts, Dr. Subash Chander, Scientist F, Joint Director, TBRL, DRDO, Chandigarh & Dr. T K Jindal, Professor & Head of the Aerospace Engineering Department, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh integrated with Dr. Bharat Ankur Dogra & Mr. Shivam, who worked on Pulse Detonation Technology. The lecture was delivered on the very hot topic “Introduction to Pulse Detonation Propulsion”.
They discussed the Deflagration to Detonation, advantages, and disadvantages of DDT, factors affecting the DDT Processes, CJ conditions, PDE with its applications. And the session ended with the last expert, Dr. Harish Kumar Banga, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, GNDEC, Punjab, for sharing knowledge of 3D Printing Advance Applications.
They really shared very valuable knowledge with the participants & the Interesting questions asked by the participants were the evidence of positive feedback for the session.
Gurdip Singh Sihra, Pro-Chancellor, GNA University said that this program will provide the current research & technologies used in the aerospace sector. This kind of program will be very beneficial for faculties & research scholars to build their research laboratories at their institute.
He congratulated the organizing team for organizing such a development program in this difficult time of covid-19. On this occasion, Dr. V.K Rattan Vice Chancellor, GNA University said that GNA University always take a lead to train faculties and the community on recent advanced technologies. Dr. Monika Hanspal, Dean, Academics, and Dr. Vikrant Sharma, Dean, Engineering were also present on the occasion.
