CEV GROUP’S COMMITMENT TO A GREENER FUTURE: CELEBRATING THE GROWTH OF GULMOHAR TREES IN BHOPAL
Bhopal, 9th July 2025 – Techno Reporter – In an inspiring act of environmental stewardship, CEV (Community Environmental Volunteer) member, Er. Neeraj Kumar Nagar, along with his dedicated team of volunteers, planted 8 Gulmohar trees in the Jail Maharaj Parisar area, Village Dhaturi, in Pachore, Bhopal, two years ago on 25th June 2023.
The green initiative, aimed at combating urban deforestation and contributing to the beautification of the surroundings, has not only been successful but stands as a testament to the power of community-driven efforts for environmental preservation.
The Green Legacy
As part of a sustainable environment project, the team chose the Gulmohar tree (Delonix regia), a species known for its vibrant red flowers, its ability to thrive in tropical climates, and its positive impact on the ecosystem. The 8 trees, planted at the Jail Maharaj Parisar, have now grown into large, flourishing trees due to continuous care, maintenance, and dedication shown by the team, including Er. Neeraj Kumar Nagar, Rajesh Nagar, Hemant Kumar Nagar, Rameshwar Nagar, Govind Dhanora, and Hariom Nagar.
This year, on the second anniversary of the plantation, a team from CEV Group visited the site to assess the progress of the trees. The results were remarkable. What were once young saplings are now towering trees, contributing significantly to the local biodiversity and improving air quality in the region. The trees have provided much-needed shade and comfort to the community, with their bright flowers attracting local pollinators and contributing to the overall ecosystem health.
A Story of Dedication
The journey from sapling to full-grown tree has been a labor of love. Thanks to the unyielding dedication of the individuals involved, including regular watering, soil enrichment, and protection from pests and diseases, these trees have reached their full potential. The volunteers have consistently returned to check on the plants, offering their care and attention through all seasons, ensuring their survival and steady growth.
Their efforts demonstrate what can be achieved when people take responsibility for their environment. The Gulmohar trees in Dhaturi serve as a symbol of hope, unity, and the difference that can be made when communities come together to care for the earth.
Video Release: A Call to Action
In a bid to inspire more people to take similar steps toward a greener future, CEV Group has recently released an informative video. The video showcases not only the remarkable growth of the Gulmohar trees in Pachore but also educates viewers on the importance of tree plantation, especially during the monsoon rainy season when the soil is most fertile, and the rains provide the ideal conditions for saplings to take root.
The video encourages local communities, schools, institutions, and individuals to get involved in tree planting and to play their part in reversing the detrimental effects of climate change. With practical tips, expert advice, and motivational messages from environmental leaders, the video aims to engage viewers in proactive environmental actions, making the simple yet impactful act of planting trees accessible to everyone.
Why Monsoon is the Best Time to Plant Trees
The monsoon season offers a unique opportunity for tree planting, with the rains nurturing young plants and allowing them to establish roots. Trees planted during this period have a higher survival rate, as the moisture helps to reduce stress on the newly planted saplings. By encouraging people to plant trees during this time, CEV Group hopes to create a wave of green transformation, not only in Bhopal but across the nation.
A Green Future
The commitment of CEV members to preserving nature is truly commendable. They have not only helped plant these trees but also continue to care for them, ensuring that their legacy will endure for years to come. The Gulmohar trees in Dhaturi serve as a living reminder of the positive impact one can make by taking simple steps to improve the environment.
As the rainy season approaches, CEV Group urges everyone to follow in the footsteps of Er. Neeraj Kumar Nagar and his team and plant trees, contribute to the green revolution, and create a better planet for future generations.
The CEV Group encourages everyone to watch their recently released video, spread the word, and take action. Together, we can help make the Earth a greener and healthier place for all.

LET ENGINEERS REALISE THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS THE ENVIRONMENT & MOTHER NATURE
Trees provide us with many benefits necessary for survival, including clean air, filtered water, shade, and food. They also give us hope and insight, and courage to persevere – even in the harshest conditions. Trees teach us to stay rooted while soaring to great heights.
Planting trees for the environment is good as they are renewable, biodegradable, and recyclable. If we plant 20 million trees, the earth will get 260 million more tons of oxygen. … During photosynthesis, trees and other plants absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. Trees keep in cheek the air and water pollution.

ABOUT GULMOGAR PLANT
The Gulmohar plant, also known as Delonix regia or Flame Tree, is a beautiful flowering tree native to Madagascar but is also found in other tropical and subtropical regions around the world. While it is primarily grown for its ornamental value, the Gulmohar plant offers several benefits and uses. Here are some of them:
- Ornamental value: The Gulmohar plant is highly valued for its strikingly beautiful flowers. It produces vibrant clusters of red, orange, or yellow blossoms, creating a visually stunning display. The tree’s canopy, with its fern-like foliage, also adds an attractive element to landscapes and gardens.
- Shade and shelter: Due to its dense foliage and spreading branches, the Gulmohar plant provides excellent shade, making it ideal for planting in parks, gardens, or as an avenue tree. It offers relief from the scorching heat and provides a cool environment underneath.
- Environmental benefits: Like all trees, the Gulmohar plant contributes to environmental well-being. It helps improve air quality by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen through photosynthesis. Additionally, the tree provides habitat and food for various birds, insects, and other wildlife.
- Soil erosion control: The Gulmohar’s extensive root system helps prevent soil erosion. The deep roots anchor the soil, preventing it from washing away during heavy rains, which is especially beneficial on slopes or near riverbanks.
- Medicinal uses: While not extensively studied, certain parts of the Gulmohar plant have been used in traditional medicine. The bark, leaves, flowers, and seeds contain compounds with potential anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties. However, it is essential to consult a qualified healthcare professional before using any plant for medicinal purposes.
- Timber: The wood of the Gulmohar tree is moderately strong and durable. It is sometimes used for crafting furniture, cabinets, and other wooden objects. However, it is not a primary timber species and is generally not extensively utilized for commercial purposes.
It’s important to note that the Gulmohar plant is not without its drawbacks. It can be invasive in certain regions, where it may outcompete native plants and disrupt local ecosystems. Therefore, it is advisable to check its suitability and potential impact on the environment before planting it in specific areas.
Overall, the Gulmohar plant is highly valued for its aesthetic appeal, shade-providing capabilities, environmental contributions, and limited medicinal uses.
All CEV INDIA members are requested to motivate the residents of its housing colonies to plant & protect a maximum number of trees in & around the colonies. The rural residents members of CEV INDIA motivate village Panchayats to plant and protect tree saplings in and around the villages to improve the environmental ambiance.
