SAYS, PUNJAB GOVERNMENT HAS ALREADY TAKEN PATH-BREAKING INITIATIVES TO TRANSFORM THE EDUCATION SECTOR
Jalandhar, (20/12/2025): Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Saturday urged youngsters to make education a catalyst for the holistic development of their personality to achieve success in life and career. He was presiding over the 20th Annual Day function of Mayor World School here, where he described education as the very foundation of a progressive and vibrant society.
Speaking on the occassion, the Speaker said education not only imparts academic knowledge but also shapes responsible, sensible and socially conscious citizens, thereby contributing significantly to the socio-economic growth of the nation. He emphasized that a well-educated youth forms the backbone of a strong and self-reliant society.
Accompanied by Punjab Horticulture and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat, Advisor Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department Deepak Bali, Chairman Punjab Agri Export Corporation Limited Mangal Singh Bassi and senior AAP leader Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, Mr. Sandhwan highlighted the major reforms undertaken by the Punjab Government in the education sector. He said initiatives such as Mega Parent-Teacher Meetings in government schools, Punjab Sikhiya Kranti and Khedan Watan Punjab Dian have set new benchmarks and placed education on a high-growth trajectory.
The Speaker further noted that skill development has been integrated with mainstream education to enable youngsters to become job creators rather than job seekers. He also lauded the Mayor World Group for its stellar contribution to quality education.
On the occasion, meritorious students were honoured for outstanding achievements in academics, sports and co-curricular activities, while the dignitaries received a warm welcome from the school management.
