IBBI CELEBRATES ITS SEVENTH ANNUAL DAY ON

1ST OCTOBER 2023

1. The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) is celebrating its Seventh Annual Day on 1st October 2023. To mark the occasion, apart from Annual Day Lecture Series, many other activities have been scheduled in presence of Justice Shri Ashok Bhushan, Hon’ble Chairperson, National Company Law Appellate Tribunal and Chief Justice (Retd.) Shri Ramalingam Sudhakar, Hon’ble President, National Company Law Tribunal and Dr. Manoj Govil, Secretary Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
2. Justice Shri Ashok Bhushan, Hon’ble Chairperson, National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest and will be delivering a keynote address. 3. Chief Justice (Retd.) Shri Ramalingam Sudhakar, Hon’ble President, National Company Law Tribunal, will be the Guest of Honour and will be delivering the Annual Day Lecture of this year.

   4. To mark the occasion, an annual publication, “IBC: Evolution, Learnings and Innovation” and a research publication, “Navdrishti: Emerging Ideas on IBC” will also be released.
   5. As part of the programme, winners of 4th National Online Quiz on IBC will be awarded with merit certificate, medal and cash prize.
   6. In its seven years of journey, the Code has significantly expedited the resolution of insolvency cases, instilled confidence among investors and stakeholders, fostering a more conducive environment for business growth. The Code has rescued 2,622 CDs (720 through resolution plans, 1005 through appeal or review or settlement and 897 through withdrawal) till June 2023. Further, the credible threat of the Code, that a CD may change hands, has changed the behavior of debtors. Till date around 26,000 cases involving an underlying default amount of Rs. 8.23 lakh crore have been withdrawn before their admission.
   7. The programme is being organised in the Vigyan Bhawan, Maulana Azad Road, New Delhi at 11.30 hrs onwards. Senior officers of the Government and regulatory bodies will grace the occasion. The occasion will witness the presence of stakeholders of the insolvency regime, namely, the insolvency professionals, registered values, other professionals, debtors, creditors, business leaders, academicians, and researchers on invitation.
