WHETHER CONSTANT PERCENTAGE METHOD IS OTHERWISE CALLED AS LINEAR METHOD?
Question :
Whether constant percentage method is otherwise called as linear method?
Opinion : (by Mr. R.K. Gandhi)
No. Linear method is same as straight line method of depreciation where depreciation is equal and same for each year. Constant percentage method does not give depreciation directly but it gives depreciated replacement cost (DRC). Capital value less DRC will give you depreciation.
