When the water evaporates, the salts can form a white powdery deposit on the surface of the brick. This deposit is called efflorescence. The presence of efflorescence indicates the presence of salts in the brick, which can affect its strength and durability.

4. Hardness test: This test is used to determine the hardness of a brick. In this test, a small metal ball is pressed against the surface of the brick, and the depth of the indentation is measured. The depth of the indentation gives an indication of the hardness of the brick.

5. Soundness test: This test is used to determine the ability of a brick to withstand the effects of weathering. In this test, a brick is immersed in water for 24 hours, and then it is dried in a well-ventilated area for 24 hours. This process is repeated five times. After the fifth cycle, the brick is examined for any signs of cracking or disintegration.
