It has also stated that applications for NOCs not processed within five working days, will be treated as “deemed approval”.
The public health department has stated that mere ‘technical clearance/development plan’ issued by the town and country planning department (TCP) is sufficient for issuing health NOCs for construction of any building, house, and other structure.
It has also stated that a ‘completion order’ is sufficient for issuing NOCs by the health department before occupying, for establishment of any commercial or industrial establishments.
Prior to this people couldn’t construct without prior permission from the health officer or medical officer in charge of the health centre.
“Henceforth there is no need for Goa-IDC to refer NOCs from health department in case the ‘technical clearance/development plan’ is already submitted by the applicant concerned, in case of approval for construction and ‘completion order’ in case of occupation,” the circular issued by under secretary health, Gautami Parmekar, stated.
“All applications for issuing health NOCs should be processed and NOC be issued within five working days, failing which it shall be treated as deemed approval,” the circular stated.
The government has stated that it will review the order issued after six months.
