UP RERA settles 79 cases in National Lok Adalat

The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has disposed of over 79 cases related to dispute between homebuyers and builders in the first National Lok Adalat on Saturday.

Total 91 cases were fixed in Lok Adalat for hearing, out of which 79 were disposed of, according to the authority.

“The National Lok Adalat was held at Uttar Pradesh RERA for the first time and got immensely positive feedback from the public. We are looking forward to the next National Lok Adalat slated to be held on 10th September 2021,” said Anand Shukla, Nodal officer and Legal Advisor, UP RERA.

Authority said that 49 complaints that filed before the bench under Section 31 of the RERA Act in which mutual agreement is possible, or an application for agreement has been filed by a party, were taken up and 43 of them were disposed.

Of the 29 complaints filed under Section 31 of the RERA Act in which conciliation agreement is possible, or an application for agreement has been filed by a party, or settlement is possible on the basis of the reconciliation agreement, 27 were disposed.

In addition to this, 13 execution suits under the RERA Act and pending suits under Section 63 were listed, out of which 9 were disposed.
